A Touchdown for the Holidays: The Chiefs and Hallmark Unite for a Christmas Movie
The Kansas City Chiefs are taking a break from the gridiron to bring some holiday cheer to the big screen. In a unique partnership with Hallmark, the NFL, and Skydance Sports, the Chiefs are producing a Christmas movie titled “Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story.” The film, set to premiere on the Hallmark Channel this winter, will star Tyler Hynes, Hunter King, and Ed Begley Jr.
The iconic GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium will serve as a filming location for the movie.
“We are honored to partner with Hallmark on a project as unique as this,” said Chiefs president Mark Donovan in a statement. “As a club, we pride ourselves on exploring new ways to grow our brand, as well as connect with new audiences. This partnership unites two passionate fanbases and gives us an opportunity to show Chiefs Kingdom’s energy and tradition on one of the most-watched channels during the holiday season.”
“With Hallmark and the Kansas City Chiefs both homegrown, rooted in values, tradition and community, there is a special alchemy between these two iconic organizations,” said Hallmark chief brand officer Darren Abbott.
The movie will begin production in July and film in various Kansas City, Missouri, locations, including the Chiefs’ home stadium. While the team is focused on their quest for a three-peat, Kansas City fans might catch a glimpse of a Lombardi Trophy or two later this winter.
The film promises to bring the warmth of Hallmark storytelling and the excitement of professional football together.
As the Chiefs take on this new venture, they’re not only expanding their brand but also giving back to their community. The partnership is a testament to the team’s commitment to engaging with their fans and exploring innovative ways to share their spirit.
The energy and tradition of Chiefs Kingdom will be on full display in the holiday movie.
“Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story” is set to premiere on the Hallmark Channel during their 15th annual Countdown to Christmas programming event. Mark your calendars, Chiefs fans, and get ready for a holiday movie like no other.
