The NFL quarterback rankings have been a topic of discussion all offseason, with many outlets not giving Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff the respect he deserves. However, NBC Sports’ Chris Simms has finally given Goff his due, ranking him as the No. 10 signal-caller ahead of the 2024 campaign.

Goff’s ranking may come as a surprise to some, but the numbers from his tenure in Detroit over the past two seasons back up his high ranking. According to Statmuse, Goff ranks second in passing yards, third in passing scores, 10th in completion rate, and fifth in yards per game over the past two seasons. On top of that, he has one Pro Bowl nod in that span.
“What have you done for me lately” is a common phrase in the NFL, and Goff’s recent performance has certainly earned him a top-10 ranking.
Goff’s success extends beyond the regular season, too. Not only did he help the Lions get to the NFC Championship Game in 2016, but he also has the most playoff wins of any NFC quarterback since he entered the league in 2016.
