The Jets’ Roster Ranked 4th in PFF’s 2024 NFL Roster Rankings

The New York Jets have been making waves in the NFL this offseason, and it seems their efforts have paid off. After adding All-Pros like pass rusher Haason Reddick and LT Tyron Smith, and with the return of QB Aaron Rodgers from his torn Achilles tendon, the Jets roster is looking more complete than ever.

Pro Football Focus recently ranked the Jets’ roster the fourth-best in the league, behind only the 49ers, Chiefs, and Eagles. According to PFF Analyst Jim Wyman, “If the offensive line improves and Aaron Rodgers is healthy, the Jets are an extremely talented team. They already have arguably the best defense in the NFL. As was the case last year, any scenario where they miss the postseason is a disappointment.”

The Jets’ pass defense has been a highlight of their team, allowing the second-fewest passing yards in the league last season (168.3) and fourth-fewest passing touchdowns (11). Wyman wrote, “The Jets ranked first in the NFL in coverage grade and sixth in pass-rush grade last season. They boast elite players in both units, including C.J. Mosley and Quinnen Williams. All of the foundational pieces return, and their defense is absolutely lethal when they are ahead late in games.”

However, the Jets’ offensive line remains a question mark. Despite adding a future Hall of Famer in Smith and acquiring former Ravens in LG John Simpson and RT Morgan Moses, the unit still needs to prove itself.

PFF Analyst Dalton Wasserman wrote, “Offensively, the Jets struggled to block people in 2023. Their offensive line suffered a rash of injuries and finished the season with the second-worst overall grade in the league. They enter this year with hopes of significant improvement.”

If the Jets can get their offensive line in order, they may be able to surpass the 9.5 wins projected by PFF. Rodgers, who played just four snaps last season before suffering a torn Achilles, is the X-Factor for the team’s postseason hopes.

![Aaron Rodgers](_search_image Aaron Rodgers NFL) Rodgers’ health and performance will be key to the Jets’ success this season.

Wasserman wrote, “Assuming the team’s offensive line is fixed, Aaron Rodgers is the key for New York to return to the playoffs for the first time since 2010. Rodgers played just four snaps last season before suffering a torn Achilles. If he is recovered and plays like a top-10 quarterback, the Jets become another dangerous team in a loaded AFC.”

With a strong defense and potentially improved offense, the Jets are shaping up to be a force to be reckoned with in the NFL this season.
