More Football, Please!

As a die-hard NFL fan, I’m always excited about the prospect of more football. When the league expanded from a 16-game schedule to 17 games, I was thrilled. Now, there’s talk of increasing the regular season to 18 games per team, with only two preseason games. Where do I sign up?!

The NFL schedule could be getting a makeover

Not only would this change mean more football for fans, but it would also push the Super Bowl into mid-February, right in the midst of Mardi Gras celebrations. Can you imagine the energy in New Orleans during that time? It’s a prospect that gets me pumped up!

The NFL has been experimenting with different schedule formats, and I’m all for it. Who needs four preseason games, anyway? Three is alright, but two sounds perfect. And let’s be real, more regular season games means more opportunities for our favorite teams to shine.

Georgia on My Mind

In other football news, I have to give a shoutout to Georgia (the country, not the state). They recently qualified for their first major soccer tournament, EURO 2024, and scored their first goal in a major tourney against Turkey. The fans’ reactions were priceless – tears of joy in the stands! Although they went on to lose 3-1, it was a huge moment for a country that gained independence from the Soviet Union in 1991.

Food for Thought

On a more local note, I’m often asked about getting a reservation at Clancy’s Restaurant, my favorite spot in the city. It’s not on Open Table or Resy, so you have to call them directly to book a table. They only take reservations a month in advance, and only during their business hours. But trust me, it’s worth the effort.

If you’re having trouble getting a reservation over the phone, try walking in and making one at the hostess stand. You can even grab a drink from their world-class bartender, Garth Swanson, while you wait.
