Good Morning Football Relaunches with New Show and Streaming Program

The wait is finally over! After months of anticipation, Good Morning Football (GMFB) is set to relaunch on Monday, July 29, with a brand new show and streaming program. The Emmy-winning morning show will air from 8-10 a.m. ET Monday through Friday, broadcasting from NFL Network’s studios in Los Angeles.

The show will feature a mix of familiar faces, including hosts Jamie Erdahl, Peter Schrager, and Kyle Brandt, along with newcomers Akbar Gbajabiamila and Sherree Burruss. Gbajabiamila, a former NFL defensive end, returns to NFL Network after a three-year stint as co-host of CBS’ daytime show The Talk. Burruss, a veteran on-air reporter and host, joined NFL Network in February 2023 and will provide news updates and contribute to various segments on GMFB.

In addition to the daily show, a new two-hour series titled GMFB: Overtime will stream for free on The Roku Channel Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to noon ET. Hosted by Erdahl, Schrager, Brandt, and Gbajabiamila, with Burruss on news, GMFB: Overtime will cover game topics, as well as the entertainment and lifestyle surrounding the NFL.

“With ‘GMFB: Overtime,’ we have an incredible opportunity to introduce this unique and beloved brand to an entirely new audience in all 30 NFL markets and beyond,” said David Jurenka, senior vice president and general manager of NFL Media in Los Angeles.

GMFB: Overtime will be the first streaming and nationally syndicated sports TV talk show, and will air in syndication across various local stations on Monday, September 2. Check local listings for showtimes and stations.

In other NFL news, one team executive has come out publicly to criticize Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, calling him “one of the more overrated players in the NFL.” The exec cited Allen’s tendency to make mistakes, including his inability to win at the line of scrimmage and his tendency to lock on to targets. While Allen has thrown for over 4,000 yards and 29 touchdowns in the 2024 season, he has also thrown 47 interceptions over the past four years.

“He’s underdeveloped at winning at the line of scrimmage, tends to lock on to targets, more of a thrower than precision passer, forces throws into traffic,” the exec said.

Despite the criticism, Allen remains one of the top quarterbacks in the league, and his talent and willingness to take risks are what set him apart from other players. However, until the Bills win a Super Bowl with Allen at the helm, he will continue to face criticism and skepticism from fans and pundits alike.
