NFL Hall of Famer Terrell Davis Recounts ‘Traumatizing’ Experience of Being Handcuffed on United Flight
Terrell Davis, Former NFL Star
Terrell Davis, the legendary running back who played for the Denver Broncos, recently relived a disturbing incident that occurred on a United Airlines flight. Davis, a Hall of Famer, claimed that he was handcuffed in front of his family after a misunderstanding with a flight attendant.
According to Davis, the flight attendant shouted, ‘Don’t hit me!’ after he lightly tapped them. The situation escalated, and six FBI agents boarded the plane at John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana, where Davis was then handcuffed.
‘I thought nothing of it other than this particular employee was incredibly rude and blatantly wrong in his accusations of me hitting him,’ Davis stated.

Davis expressed his distress and anger over the incident, stating that it was ’traumatizing’ for his family to watch him being handcuffed. The FBI later confirmed that they responded to a report of an incident on the flight, and Davis was detained for questioning before being released.
In response to the incident, United Airlines issued an apology to Davis and removed the flight attendant from service.
