The 2024 NFL Season: Rookies Report to Training Camp

The NFL’s summer break is officially over for several clubs, as eight teams welcome their rookies to training camp today. The Buffalo Bills, Chicago Bears, Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Chargers, Miami Dolphins, New Orleans Saints, New York Giants, and San Francisco 49ers are all set to get started.

Top picks and hopefuls converge on training camp

No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams, still unsigned, is the most high-profile rookie set to report, but every team’s first-year players bring intrigue. From Keon Coleman in Buffalo to Xavier Worthy in Kansas City, Joe Alt in L.A., Chop Robinson in Miami, Taliese Fuaga and Spencer Rattler in New Orleans, Malik Nabers in New York, and Ricky Pearsall in San Francisco to Williams’ teammate Rome Odunze in Chicago, the excitement is palpable.

Injuries and Setbacks

Meanwhile, the Baltimore Ravens’ rookies reported on Saturday, but not without some setbacks. RB Keaton Mitchell (knee) was placed on the physically unable to perform list, while LB Adisa Isaac was placed on the non-football injury list, and DB T.J. Tampa was placed on the PUP list.

The Cleveland Browns also saw some notable news, as RB Nick Chubb, still recovering from a major knee surgery, was seen squatting over 500 pounds in a video posted on social media Monday. This is a positive update on his comeback attempt.

Front Office News

In other news, the Washington Commanders are hiring former Panthers general manager Scott Fitterer as a personnel executive, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported.

Terrell Davis Speaks Out

NFL Hall of Famer Terrell Davis was ‘humiliated’ after being handcuffed and escorted off a plane in front of his family over the weekend. Davis explained the incident, which started when his son asked for a cup of ice from a flight attendant during beverage service, in a long Instagram post on Monday.

Davis said that the incident revolved around an exaggeration by the flight attendant and led to federal agents boarding the aircraft, handcuffing him, and walking him off the plane. Davis was ‘humiliated, embarrassed, powerless, and angry.’
