The Greatest Dual Threat in NFL History?

As I reflect on my own playing career, I’m often asked about my ability to make plays with both my arm and legs. While I take pride in being one of the most prolific rushing quarterbacks in NFL history, I don’t consider myself the greatest dual threat the game has ever seen. That distinction, in my opinion, belongs to Lamar Jackson.

Cam Newton, the former Panthers and Patriots quarterback, knows a thing or two about making plays with his legs.

In a recent interview, I was asked if I thought I was the greatest dual threat quarterback of all time. My response was simple: Lamar Jackson. While I’ve had my fair share of big plays, Jackson’s speed and elusiveness are on a different level. He’s a legend in his own right, and his ability to make something out of nothing is unparalleled.

Lamar Jackson’s speed and agility make him a nightmare for defenders.

I often get compared to Michael Vick, another quarterback known for his electrifying plays with his legs. But even Vick, who holds the record for rushing yards by a quarterback, can’t match Jackson’s big-play ability. Vick and Jackson are in a different category than me; they’re game-changers who can take over a game at any moment.

Michael Vick, the former Falcons and Eagles quarterback, was known for his explosive plays with his legs.

As I look at the current landscape of the NFL, it’s clear that Jackson is on pace to shatter Vick’s record for rushing yards by a quarterback. With his career average of 876 yards per season, it’s only a matter of time before he takes the top spot. And with 29 rushing touchdowns already under his belt, he’s got a long way to go to catch my record of 75.

Lamar Jackson is on pace to shatter multiple records in the coming seasons.

In the end, it’s not about personal accolades or records; it’s about recognizing greatness when you see it. And in my opinion, Lamar Jackson is the greatest dual threat quarterback the NFL has ever seen.
