The NFL’s Wide Receiver Conundrum: A Look at the Steelers and Bills
The NFL offseason has been filled with drama and intrigue, and one of the most pressing issues for teams is the wide receiver position. The Pittsburgh Steelers and Buffalo Bills are two teams that have been making headlines with their receiver corps. In this article, we’ll delve into the latest developments and what they mean for the upcoming season.
The Steelers’ Pursuit of a Top Receiver
The Steelers have been linked to nearly every wide receiver believed to be on the trade market. Despite an eventful offseason, the team is still looking to add one more piece to their roster. NFL insider Jason La Canfora said on the most recent episode of “In the Huddle” that he’s “convinced” the team is going to add a wideout via trade at some point before the season.
“I’m pretty bullish on the Steelers,” La Canfora said. “They’re going to add a wide receiver at some point between now and the trade deadline. That’s going to happen. They’ve budgeted for it. They’ve been trying to make it happen. I’d be stunned if it doesn’t.”
The best guess for a wideout move is likely Brandon Aiyuk of the 49ers. With the two sides being distant on a contract extension, it doesn’t seem likely Aiyuk is in San Francisco much longer. If the team does decide to move on, Pittsburgh feels like their best suitor.

The Bills’ Revamped Receiving Corps
Meanwhile, the Bills have revamped their receiving corps, moving on from Stefon Diggs and Gabriel Davis in the offseason. Chase Claypool, a former Steelers receiver, is looking to prove himself in what may be his “last chance” at an NFL roster at training camp.
Claypool’s professional football career has traversed a path many thought unfathomable at this time three years ago. The wide receiver, at the time, was viewed as one of the best young pass-catchers in football, a big-bodied boundary presence who was coming off a breakout 2020 campaign with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Tagovailoa Brothers
In other news, Taulia Tagovailoa, the younger brother of Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, has signed with the Canadian Football League’s Hamilton Tiger-Cats practice squad. The signing comes in the aftermath of Tagovailoa going undrafted this spring.

The NFL season is just around the corner, and teams are still making moves to bolster their rosters. The Steelers and Bills are two teams to watch, with their receiver corps being a key area of focus. Will they make the right moves to propel themselves to success in the upcoming season?
